The
All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association (AKGSMA) along with other
jeweller bodies of Kerala and outside were protesting against the Purchase Tax
imposed on the G & J sector in the state. The protest was on since 3rd
April and on 5th April breakthrough happened and the jewellers managed to
convince the Kerala government for rolling back the Purchase Tax with
retrospective effect in the next assembly meeting. Read More
