The famous Mahalakshmi Temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra has a treat for devotees and a new palanquin for the deity this Gudi Padwa and Akshay Tritiya. The Shakti Peeth’s management is planning to inaugurate an intricately carved palki weighing around 22 & 1/2 kilo grams. The palanquin is made of pure gold and has intricate carving with peacocks at the corners in blue and green colours.
