Blue moon diamond sold for record price of for $48.5mn at Sotheby

Sotheby’s has auctioned the 12.03-carat Blue Moon diamond for US $48.5 million, setting what the auctioneer claims is a world record for a diamond of any colour. The internally flawless diamond with “truly outstanding” colour sold at a Sotheby’s sale in Geneva on November 11, breaking the previous record set when the auction house sold the 24.78-carat Graff Pink diamond for US $46.2 million in the same city in 2010. Read More
