China increases gold reserves for third consecutive month

China has increased its gold reserves for the third consecutive month. According to the latest statistics released by the People's Bank of China, The country's gold reserves at the end of August stood at 1,693.58 metric tons, up 16.28 metric tons from July and up 35.58 metric tons from June.
