The
disclosure of PAN card rule will result in revenue loss to the
jewellery retailers who are operating in tier 2 and 3 cities and also,
who are selling to the rural population. 60 per cent of my clients are
from rural areas and most of them have not been issued a PAN card. Even
other documents such as Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card, etc., are not
available with them. This proposal will backfire as it may lead to
unaccounted transactions.
